Square Pegs: The Holes Were Never Round

More than once in my working life I was called a square peg. It turned out to be the most accurate thing anyone ever said about me.

Every system, from a team to a company to a country, runs on four forces: incentives, information, relationships and responsibility. How they line up decides whether the system holds or breaks. This book teaches you to read that shape, so you can stop trying to fit and start building something that does.

Square Pegs: The Casebook

Twenty-one case studies in six groups put the framework to work on organizations and events you already know, from Toyota, GE and Kodak to Estonia, Finland and the Iroquois Confederacy, and from Normandy to Ukraine.

Each case stands on its own, so it reads as a reference rather than front to back.

The Woldring Family Book

Genealogy and History of the Woldring Family was published in Groningen in 1970 by G. A. Brongers, Th. P. E. de Klerck and A. Modderaar-Woldring.

It traces five centuries of a Drenthe and Groningen family, starting with a 1382 charter naming two Woldringhe brothers as farmers at Vrees. I am translating it from the original Dutch into English.
